2.29 Simple but Essential: How to disable Zip/Postal Code Option on Checkout Page

Introduction


By default your store is set to ask the customers to fill the “Zip/Postal code” field on the checkout page as part of their address.

If you wish to hide it or make it optional, you may follow the below steps to achieve that:

1- Make the” Zip/Postal Code” optional on check out:

To make the field optional means that it will appear on the checkout page and your customers are able to place orders even if they don’t fill the field.

  • From your admin panel, go to: System > Advanced > Settings.
  • Under the tab “General” to the left, choose “General” and click on it.
  • On the page that appears, under the tab titled “Countries Options“, reach for the option titled “Postal Code is Optional for the following countries“, next to it you’ll find a multiple choice menu. You can choose the countries for which you want to make the field optional by holding the “control / command” button down on your keyboard and clicking on the countries of your choice.
  • When you finish click on “Save Config.” to save the changes.

2- Hide the” Zip/Postal Code” field on the checkout field:

If you want to hide the field and prevent it from appearing on the checkout page, kindly follow the below steps:

  • From your admin panel, go to: “System”>”Advanced”>”Settings”.
  • Go to EasyCheckout under ShopGo tab
  • On the page that appears, under the tab” Address Configuration “, you’ll find a multiple choice menu titled “Hide zip code for the following countries”, in the menu choose the countries for which you want to hide the Zip/Postal Code option, by holding the “control / command” button down on your keyboard and clicking on the countries of your choice.
  • When you finish click on “Save Config.” to save the changes.

Outcome

You’re now able to hide the field “Zip/Postal Code” from checkout page on your store, or make it optional for your customers
